About Christina ...

Photographer, Webmaster/Designer

Bio

Christina currently spends her days working in the criminal justice system, so photography and web design are two of the ways she de-stresses after hours. She previously worked in higher education, where, among many other job duties, she developed and maintained a departmental website and edited web pages for another department at one institution. Educationally, Christina holds a BBA in Finance and a MS in Criminal Justice. While teaching in the community college classroom is her ultimate career goal, photography, web design, and travel are her primary passions.

Christina's only formal education in photography was a high school photography fundamentals class in the spring of 1996, where she learned how to use a film SLR, develop and process black and white film, and print photographs. She also contributed photos to her high school yearbook for both track and cross country.

Since high school, she has contributed photos to several online communities and has developed and hosts a personal photoblog and a photojournal of her past travels. In addition, she has previously hosted and designed two personal weblogs for two close friends and currently provides hosting services for another personal / fanfiction website for another friend. In her spare time, she has taught herself -- through plenty of trial and error -- the fundamentals of web design and photo editing, as well as constantly improving her photographic skills.

In my own words...

Photography has interested me off and on for as long as I can remember back. Starting with a 110 camera in elementary school and progressing steadily more advanced over the years, I've grown to enjoy capturing moments on film and now in digital format.  Just about wherever I go, a camera (or two or more!) are in tow, because I'd be crazy not to document it all! I’m an overachieving, detail-oriented classic only/oldest child — and that’s the service I provide to you. I don’t give you half my time, I give you all of it when you choose me as your photographer. I want you to be wowed and amazed when you see the final images. I give you what I would expect from any photographer I would commission for portraits or an event, nothing less.

Just a few facts about me:

Female. Late twenties. Finished graduate school in 2006. Single. Texan. American. Christian. Dog lover. Loves cats too. Bookworm. Dork. Wordy. Farm girl. Longhorn Fan. Bit of a computer geek. Gradually becoming more a photo geek. Writer of lots of letters to pals worldwide. Bitten by the travel bug with a passport that seriously needs to be put to use some more before it expires. Addicted to postcard collecting. Also addicted to chocolate and Dr Pepper. Loves strawberry cheesecake and homemade sweetened iced tea. Subscribes to travel magazines like crazy. Listens to country, alternative, and oldies/classic rock.

Want to learn more about me -- where I don't refer to myself in the third person, that is?  Read my personal ramblings at [Geek Notes] and browse through the pages of random information, weekly lists of personal favorites, and a monthly contest I share with the internetwebosphere!
